English 2019

I English we watched the movie Tarzan and it was pretty good. The teacher gave us some tasks ad this is my work:

Two Worlds, One Family

What does it mean to you?

To me, it means some sort of Rick and Morty shizzle because in Rick and Morty they have multiple
universes. And through all these universes there is always a Rick and Morty and their families,
so basically this is Rick and Morty

Three ideas in Tarzan

Acceptance

Throughout the movie, Kerchak (the silverback gorilla (leader of the troop)) struggles to accept Tarzan into the troop. But as Tarzan starts doing better things, he realises that he was wrong. Clayton also has trouble accepting Tarzan but eventually realises that he can lead him to the gorillas

Hierarchy

The movie displays the idea that because Kerchak is the leader of the troop, everyone has to listen to him. He never really allows Tarzan to be a member of the family, and because of this, the other gorillas don’t either. This is shown really well as in real life animal groups take hierarchy very seriously.

Tolerance

Many of the characters in Tarzan had to learn tolerance over the course of the movie. Kerchak and Tarzan had to learn to tolerate each other (though never really do so). The Humans also have to learn to tolerate Tarzan as he comes into their lives and they try to help him. But I think one of the best cases of one character having to tolerate someone or something, is Terk. Terk is a gorilla that seems like the type to say what's on her mind. And this causes her to become jealous of Jane, whom Tarzan falls in love with. But toward the end of the movie, she eventually gives in.

Hope you found it interest and please give your feedback

John Whiskers: The Easy Part

John Whiskers was no ordinary cat. He was, special. He could do things most cats, couldn’t do. He could feel emotions. But he never really paid much attention to it. Till one day, which is when our story begins.

It was Christmas Eve, the Schweppenheims were preparing for their first Christmas in their new American home. “Dis will be a very good Christmas ya.” “Ya, we have plenty of schnitzels.” And they made sure that they fed their cat before bed. Their cat. Was. Johnathan Tobias Alexander Benjamin Samuel Whiskers. He noticed that there was some milk sitting on the counter. He knew that is was obviously his, because he was their favourite cat (better than Jaquelin at least). But he had to find a way up. But there was an obstacle. Jaquelin. She thought it was hers. So she did the most intelligent thing she had ever done. She meowed at it. Oh, Jaquelin, foolish as always. John Whiskers did the smart thing, he moved the furniture to get to the milk, he climbed and he climbed, but found himself getting smaller and smaller. He finally made it to the milk, but he was too small to get to it. He found himself being taken over by his cat instincts. He jumped in.

As he was falling he could see all nine lives flash before his two very little eyes. Until he landed with a thud. But he didn't just land on his feet. He landed on, buildings. He found himself staring at a small man.

The Reciever of the milk. “Mr Whiskers, I have brought you here to teach you a lesson. You mustn’t steal milk. Get your own milk.” “MEOW!” replied John. He didn’t like being told to do. He looked at the little fat man very angrily. Remember how I told you he had some, skills. He ran to the man, and roundhouse kicked the jolly out of him. “Naughty, John, Naughty!” But John didn’t care. He wanted milk, and he wanted it now. He was so angry he could’ve climbed a Christmas tree. He wrecked the whole town and plus some. Little screams were heard below as he used his mad kung fu skills to get back at the town that did virtually nothing to him. But that was the easy part, next it was the hard part…

Falcon Heavy

Aim: I want to find out how the Space X Falcon Heavy boosters landed themselves

Research: It turns out the boosters were two Falcon 9 first stages. Falcon 9 was the test vehicle for the SpaceX Reusable Launch System Development Program. This is a program created by SpaceX to develop a rocket capable of launching over and over while also landing itself. This takes time and money to build. The research has been immense. The rocket cost over $90,000,000 USD to build. And it hasn't been entirely successful. The Falcon Heavy's side boosters landed perfectly, The main engine, not so much. The rocket failed to land safely and it was back to the drawing board

The names Malone, Bugsy Malone

In Musical theatre, we are learning the musical Bugsy Malone. it is set in 1920 about a man who tries to make his way through a gang war.

  1. The buildings in the 1920s were very grand and large, such as the Chrysler Building (which by the way was built in 1928)Image result for chrysler building
  2. Fashion was very showy and glamorous in the 20's, where it was uncommon for a dress to be without sparkles
  3. In the 1920's women were expected to entertain the men as well as do their chores. Men were, however, unable to legally drink alcohol
  4. Men would often go to speakeasy's and shows to watch women dance and sing for entertainment

Curiosity Topic - Air New Zealand's New Plane

Recently Air NZ got a new plane from Airbus. Even though it came nearly a year late *coughs*, I'm still excited.

It pretty cool. This is the second Air New Zealand plane to be first delivered with an all-black livery on it. Second after the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner
