Investigation into a career: Nuclear science

What training is needed for that career? Employers may seek a candidate with five years' experience working as a nuclear scientist and ten years working in an operating lab

What you do for an average day on the job? Harvest the aged uranium and turn it into nuclear power

Vortex Cannon

Aim: To see how far our Vortex Cannon can shoot.


Equipment:
Bucket or Cardboard Box
Smoke Machine
Tape
Garbage Bag
Plastic Cups (Optional)



Method: cut a hole in the bucket or cardboard then put the Garbage Bag on the bucket













Results: The results of our experiment was that from 3 meters it didn't get anywhere close to the cups. The best group in the class did though

Discussion: I think the main culprit for the failure is that we had the smallest hole at the end of our bucket. Next time I would probably try harder to tape on the bag and I would get a larger hole.

Why does wind exist?: Wind exists to push the air around the planet to allow us to breathe

What are the physics of the wind:  The heat of the ground rises and collides with the cold air thus creating
wind

Some good effects of wind

• It can bring the hot air from hot countries
• Pollenation
• Wind surfing
• It helps move air around

Some bad effects of wind

• Hurricanes
• Tornadoes
• It can bring hot air from countries
• It can Brrring cold air from cold countries
• It can bring snow, rain, hail, animal rain

The report with the HIGHEST grade

Aim: To make the perfect paper plane fly the longest as part of our Forces kete. We will also be drawing force diagrams on many objects.

Hypothesis: I believe that Nathan's paper plane design and Amaka's excellent strength will help the plane get at least 5.0m.

Balanced forces will help a plane fly straight by acting on it in the right way it will push it each way and it will fly straight if they were unbalanced it would be pushed around and it would crash.

Issac Newtons Laws:

1. Objects continue to move unless an unbalanced force pushes or pulls on them

2 . Force = Mass x Acceleration

Methods:

Nathan made the plane using just a piece of paper... I don't know...

Results
The plane that Nathan made flies really far by it doesn't do straight as I have discovered when Nathan threw the plane
